MARSHALL, Minn.– An evenly-contributing Southwest Minnesota State soccer team (3-1, 1-1 NSIC), pushed past Wayne State (1-2-2, 1-1 NSIC) with three players all adding a goal to the victory, on Sunday afternoon at the Schwan Regional Event Center to cap off parent's weekend.Â

Abbey Hoisington was the first for the Mustangs to score in the first five minutes of the second half. After the teams played a scoreless first, Hoisington accounted for her first goal of the season in the 50
thminute, assisted by
Alli Miskowiec.Â

Miskowiec, led the team in assists with two as she passed off to
Alex Lotts for SMSU's second goal in the 55
thminute. The goal was also assisted by Hoisington.Â

In the 76
thminute, the Mustangs looked to attack the goal as a penalty was called as WSC's Brooke Worrel was assigned a yellow card and
Olivia Harriger set up to take the penalty kick for the Mustangs.Â

Harriger's penalty kick went right along the bottom goal side of the goal to give the Mustangs their final 3-0 lead.Â

SMSU also had three yellow card assigned, giving the Wildcats options to look towards the goal. SMSU's goalkeeper,
Amanda Haimes, played all 90-minutes and recorded a season-high four saves, including two diving saves across the net. Haimes improves to 3-1 on the season with 10 saves and two shutout victories.Â

WSC's starting goalkeeper, Rachel Grisham suffered the loss to drop to a 1-2-2 record. Grisham allowed three goals with no saves in her 79 minutes of play. WSC subbed in Regan Ott who recorded 12 minutes and two saves late in the game.Â

SMSU had six corner kick opportunities while WSC had two. The Mustangs also out-shot the Wildcats in shots with a 13 to seven advantage.Â

Southwest Minnesota State (3-1, 1-1 NSIC) will travel to Northern State (2-2, 1-1 NSIC) on Friday for a 7 p.m. start time and MSU Moorhead (3-0-2, 1-0-1 NSIC) on Sunday.Â
