THIS WEEKEND
•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (8-4, 6-4 NSIC) heads to Sioux Falls, S.D., for a pair of big Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games versus the University of Sioux Falls (7-4, 7-4 NSIC) on Friday and Saturday.
•Friday's game will begin at 6 p.m., while Saturday's match-up will start at 4 p.m. at the Stewart Center.
•SMSU opens the weekend in fifth place in the NSIC South Division standings, while USF is a half-game ahead of SMSU and is tied for third place. The top four teams in each division qualify for the NSIC Tournament.
•SMSU will qualify for the tournament with a sweep this weekend or with one victory and either Concordia-St. Paul or Minnesota State earning a weekend sweep. CSP plays at MSU this weekend.

SERIES HISTORY VERSUS SIOUX FALLS
•SMSU and Sioux Falls meet for the 36th and 37th time with USF leading 18-17 in a series that started in 1969-70.
•USF won both games last season, including 100-77 in Sioux Falls on Nov. 20, 2019.
•USF has won 15 of the past 17 games since the 2011-12 season with SMSU's victories coming on Dec. 30, 2018, and Jan. 15, 2013.

Tom Webb is in his fifth season as head coach with a 44-77 record, including 33-65 in NSIC play.
•Webb is 135-200 overall in his 13th season as head coach at the Division II level after compiling a record of 91-123 in eight seasons (2008-16) as head coach at Cameron University (Okla.).
•SMSU has improved its victory total each season since Webb took over prior to the 2016-17 season.

ABOUT SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE
•SMSU split a pair of road games last weekend versus Wayne State, losing 74-60 on Friday, before rebounding in a big way on Saturday with an 85-49 victory.
•SMSU shot just 36 percent and committed 21 turnovers in Friday's loss, while WSC's Erin Norling and Halley Busse combined to score 53 points and make 18 field goals on 31 attempts.
•
Jenna Borchers led the Mustangs on Friday night with 14 points and connecting on four 3-pointers.
•In Saturday's big win, the Mustangs held Norling and Busse to zero points and 0 of 11 shooting.

Sadie Stelter poured in 18 points and added four steals and four assists to pace the Mustangs.

Madison Gehloff came off the bench to score a season-high 14 points with four rebounds.

Abuk Akoi has tied the team single-game record for blocked shots (7) four times in her career, including twice this season. Akoi ranks second in team history with 179 blocked shots and is four away from tying Chrishawn McArther (1993-96) for the all-time record of 183.

REINHART REACHES 1,000 CAREER POINTS

Meleah Reinhart reached 1,000 career points on Jan. 22 at Minnesota State becoming the 21st player in team history to reach the milestone. Reinhart has scored 1,103 points in 92 games ranking 15th in team history.

NEW LOOK NSIC SCHEDULE AND POSTSEASON
•Each NSIC team was scheduled to have 16 regular season games with 14 conference games versus teams within their division.
•The NSIC Sanford Tournament has been reduced to an eight-team tournament with the top four teams in each division advancing to the tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D.
SCOUTING SIOUX FALLS
•Sioux Falls, 7-4 overall, 7-4 NSIC, lost a pair of road games last weekend to Augustana, 76-68 and 80-74.
•It's the program's first two-game losing streak since Dec. 14-15, 2018. USF hasn't loss three straight since losing four in a row from Jan. 26, 2018 to Feb. 3, 2018.
•Junior guard Anna Brecht is the team's top scorer at 18.6 ppg with 20 3-pointers.
•Senior forward Anna Goodhope is the second leading scorer at 11.3 ppg with 18 3-pointers.
