SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State soccer team (1-4-6 overall, 1-4-3 NSIC) suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Augustana Vikings (5-4-2, 5-2-1) on Sunday afternoon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Mustangs struck first, as
Alex Lotts finished a pass from
Kirsten Wetterstrom in the 7th minute, but three minutes later, Augustana responded to level the match at 1-1.
Augustana's Josie Arduser scored the game winner in the 48th minute, and Morgan Keirstead added a goal in the 83
rd minute, with Arduser scoring her second goal of the game 40 seconds later to bring the match to its final score.
SMSU would tally four shots on goal, with Lotts leading the way with two. The Mustangs would be out-shot 20-5 by the Vikings, while Augie would put seven shots on net compared to the SMSU four.

The Mustangs continue their road trip next weekend, facing MSU Moorhead at 3 p.m. on Friday and Northern State at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
