MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team fell 5-0 to No. 14 Minnesota State on Sunday afternoon at The Schwan Regional Event Center.
MSU (12-1-4 overall, 10-0-4 NSIC) out-shot SMSU (2-8-7, 2-8-4), 24-4 with 11 on net compared to the SMSU two. The Mavericks scored two first half goals and three second half goals.
Brynn Desens scored a brace to lead MSU, as the Mavericks would score five goals from four different players.
Brooke Wetterstrom and
Emma Dahnert each recorded a shot on net for the Mustangs, while
Rachel Hicks made six saves in net.
Southwest Minnesota State closes their season with a home match against Sioux Falls at 6 p.m., at The Schwan Regional Event Center.
