SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's swimming & diving team opened the three-day Augustana Invite on Thursday inside the Midco Aquatic Center.
SMSU's 800-yard freestyle relay team of
Natalie Bohnert,
Juliana Villa,
MacKenzie Kallevig and
Maija Geier finished 11
th with a school-record time of 7:57.50. The time beat the previous record of 8:03.74 set at last season's Augie Invite.
SMSU had four teams compete in the 200-yard medley relay with Bohnert,
Olivia Sholl,
Heather Arlen and Geier placing 21
st with a time of 1:49.91.
Juliana Villa,
Ella Swanson, Kallevig and
Addi Schroeder finished 29
th at 1:53.35.
Kallevig advanced to the 'C' finals and placed 25
th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.55.
Day two of the invite continues Thursday at 9:30 a.m. with the diving finals at 2 p.m. and the swimming finals at 5 p.m.
