WEST FARGO, N.D. – The third day of the 2026 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championship concluded Friday night with Southwest Minnesota State currently in eighth place at the 10-team championship with 214 points.
The four-day championship is being hosted by MSU Moorhead and held inside the Hulbert Aquatic Center.
A total of five more event finals took place on Friday night with Minnesota State extending its lead in the championship with 825.5 points. St. Cloud State is in second place with 539.5 points, followed by Augustana in third place with 424 points.
Carla Nevi advanced to the finals of the 100-yard backstroke and placed seventh overall with a time of 57.32 to earn 12 team points. She also recorded a time of 57.32 in the morning prelims.
Savanna Orzech competed in the 'B' finals of the 500-yard freestyle and placed 13
th at 5:18.48 to earn four points.
Maddy Storm earned 16th place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.95 in the 'B' finals to pick-up one team point.
SMSU's 200-yard freestyle relay squad of
Grace Aesoph, Storm,
Maggie Johnson and
Lexi Weems earned 34 points with a sixth-place time of 1:37.15. Orzech,
Elyanna Dogotch,
Emily Quanbeck and Nevi also competed in the 200-yard freestyle and finished 16
th at 1:40.72 to record 10 points.
The final day of the championships is set for Saturday with prelims at 10 a.m. with the finals beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday's action will feature the 1M Dive, 100 IM, 100 Free, 200 Back, 200 Breast, 1650 free and 400 Free Relay Finals.
The top three finalists in each individual event and top two finalists in each relay event will be recognized as all-conference during the meet.
