•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team continues on the road, starting the weekend at Winona State on Friday, Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m., before traveling for a match-up against Upper Iowa at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10.

   LAST TIME OUT
•The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team used hot shooting and defensive domination to defeat No. 24-ranked Augustana 94-60 on Thursday night inside the R/A Facility. The 34-point victory was the largest by SMSU in the 51-game history between the two teams.
•The Mustangs shot a blistering 55.2 percent (32 of 58) from the field and a season-best 56 percent (14 of 25) from behind the arc while holding the Vikings to 37.1 percent (23 of 62) and 27.8 percent (5 of 18), respectively. SMSU also outscored Augie 23-2 off turnovers.
•Jenna Borchers led the Mustangs with 19 points and four assists, shooting 5 of 8 from the field, 2 of 3 from the three point line, and 7 of 7 from the free throw line. Her second three of the game was her 200th career make, breaking the program record of 199, previously held by Sadie Stelter.
•Hannah Parsley was solid for SMSU, tallying 16 points, three rebounds, three assists, and a career-high four steals. Payton Blandin reached a career-high 15 points, while Maddie Thorfinnson produced a career-high of her own with 10 points. Sam Wall tied for the team lead with six rebounds, while Bri Stoltzman scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds of her own.
•The Mustangs saw its five-game win streak snapped on Saturday afternoon, falling 72-62 to the Wayne State Wildcats inside Rice Auditorium.
•Wayne State held substantial advantages in bench points (49-20), points in the paint (38-26), and points off turnovers (30-19), helping earn the victory.
   FAST BREAK
• The Mustangs are 5-0 at home after finishing 10-3 at home last season, their best home win percentage since the 2002-03 season.
• SMSU also looks to snap an 11 game road losing streak this weekend, with its last road win coming Nov. 23, 2021 against Sioux Falls.Â
• On Thursday against Augustana, Jenna Borchers broke the program record for career three-pointers made with her 200th career make.Â
• Brochers also became the 23rd member of the 1,000 point club on Saturday, Nov. 19 against Northern Michigan.Â
• The Mustangs have shot at least 50 percent in four of their eight games this season, ranking 18th in the nation with a 46.7 field goal percentage and 24th with a 37.6 percentage from three-point range on the season.
• SMSU has touted a high-octane offense, ranking 21st in the nation scoring 79.4 points per game, and have turned it over just 13.2 times per game, the 29th fewest total in DII.
• SMSU returns eight letter winners from last season.
• SMSU was tabbed 12th overall and sixth in the South Division in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll
• Hannah Parsley leads SMSU in scoring with 14.3 ppg, adding 5.3 rpg, 15 steals, and 11 assists.Â
• Bri Stoltzman leads the Mustangs in scoring with 6.8 rpg, 26 assists, and 15 steals while scoring 14.0 ppg.Â
• Bochers is third on the team with 13.6 ppg and second on the team with 18 assists.Â
•Sam Wall (12.3), and Madison Gehloff (9.5) are both adding offensively, with both shooting at least 44 percent from the field. Â
•Wall and Borchers have made 17 and 16 three-pointers, respectively , with Wall shooting 43.6 percent from deep.Â
•SMSU is averaging 79.4 ppg while opponents are averaging 65.9 ppg. SMSU has a plus-1.6 rebounding margin.
•SMSU is shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 37.6 percent from the 3-point line, and 72.6 percent the free-throw line.

•Tom Webb is in his seventh season as head coach with a 63-94 record, including 45-78 in NSIC play.Â
•Webb is 154-217 overall in his 15th season as?head coach at the Division II level after compiling a record of 92-123 in eight seasons (2008-16) as head coach at Cameron University (Okla.).Â
•SMSU earned their first win over a ranked team since 2018-19 in 2021-22, defeating No. 15-ranked Nebraska-Kearney.Â
•Webb guided the Mustangs to a 10-3 home record, their best home record since the 2002-03 season and led SMSU to its first home NSIC tournament game since 2005, and first NSIC tournament victory since 2003, ending the season with their first ever tournament game inside the Pentagon.
