MARSHALL, Minn. -- The Southwest Minnesota State University wheelchair basketball team has earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming 12-team National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on March 17-19 in Arlington, Texas.
SMSU, 11-10 overall and winners of eight of its last nine, will take on No. 12 Edinboro (Pa.) on March 17 starting at 10 a.m. If SMSU wins, it would face No. 4 seed UW-Whitewater later that day at 6 p.m. If the Mustangs lose its opening game, they would play on March 18 at 8 a.m.
SMSU has defeated Edinboro twice this season back on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6, by scores of 72-21 and 76-17. SMSU and UWW have played five times this season with UWW holding a 3-2 advantage.
