ARLINGTON, TEXAS -- The Southwest Minnesota State University wheelchair basketball team closed out the 2021-22 season on Friday night suffering a 71-64 loss to the University of Arizona in the fifth-place game of the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament held on the campus of UT-Arlington.
SMSU ends the season with a record of 13-12.
Earlier on Friday, the Mustangs earned a dramatic 66-63 victory over the University of Missouri.
Walter Johnson gave the Mustangs the lead for good converting a three-point play with 25.7 seconds remaining to snap a tie and help secure the victory.
