KEARNEY, Neb. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Doane University (Neb.) on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
 
SMSU swept through all three doubles matches to secure the team point. Courtneay Leonard and Joana Reis Indo won 6-0 at No. 1, 
Maja Louisa Harck and 
Kristina Vuksanovic earned a 6-2 victory at No. 2, while 
Roz Oye and 
Cora Delich also earned a 6-2 win at No. 3.
 
The Mustangs would win five of the six singles matches with Leonard recording a 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 win at No. 1, while the four other victories would all come via straight sets. Vuksanovic won 7-5, 7-5 at No. 2, Harck recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3, Delich finished with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 4, while 
Daniela Poulakidas secured a 7-5, 7-6 victory at No. 6.
 
It's the second time SMSU had defeated Doane this season after earning a 4-3 win in Marshall back in October.
 
SMSU, 11-8 overall, concludes its regular season non-conference schedule on Saturday with a 10:30 a.m. match at Nebraska-Kearney.
