• The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team concludes its road trip traveling to Bismarck, N.D., for a match-up with UMary at 5:30 p.m., on Friday before a 3:30 p.m., Saturday game at Minot State.

   LAST TIME OUT
• The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team used a dominant second quarter to defeat Sioux Falls 70-44 on Saturday afternoon inside the Stewart Center.
• The Mustangs outscored USF 30-7 in the final 15 minutes of the first half, including a 9-0 run to begin the stretch and 16-0 run to close the half, and outscored the Cougars 19-4 in the second quarter to cruise to victory.

Sam Wall and
Peyton Blandin each scored 13 points to lead the Mustangs in scoring, as Wall shot 5 of 11 from the field and 3 of 6 from three-point range, while Blandin shot 5 of 7 from the field and 2 of 4 from three while grabbing five rebounds. Â

Hannah Parsley added 12 points, three rebounds, and four steals, and
Jenna Borchers scored nine points and tallied a pair of rebounds and assists.
Madison Gehloff scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds, and
Bri Stoltzman scored six points while grabbing a game-high eight rebounds.
   FAST BREAK
• After snapping an 11 game road losing streak in December, the Mustangs have now won three consecutive road games, its longest road winning streak since 2007-08.
• SMSU has won four of its last five games, and nine of its last 11. Their 9-2 record is the best 11 game stretch since the 2009-10 season.
• The 9-4 start to open the season is also the Mustangs' best start since the 2009-10 season
• The Mustangs have shot at least 50 percent in five of their 13 games this season, ranking 20th in the nation with a 45.6 field goal percentage and 13th with a 37.7 percentage from three-point range on the season.
• SMSU has touted a high-octane offense, ranking 27th in the nation scoring 77.1 points per game, and have turned it over 14.3 times per game, the 45th fewest total in DII.
• SMSU returns eight letter winners from last season.
• SMSU was tabbed 12th overall and sixth in the South Division in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• The Mustangs are 6-1 at home after finishing 10-3 at home last season, their best home win percentage since the 2002-03 season.

Hannah Parsley leads SMSU in scoring with 13.2 ppg, adding 5.5 rpg, 28 steals, 24 assists, and eight blocks, while shooting 51.6 percent from the field.

Bri Stoltzman leads the Mustangs with a 52.5 field goal percentage, 6.6 rpg, 34 assists, and is second with 12.7 ppg and 25 steals. Â

Jenna Borchers is third on the team with 12.7 ppg and second on the team with 34 assists.

Madison Gehloff (8.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg) round out the starting lineup, with both shooting at least 42 percent from the field. Â

Peyton Blandin has provided a spark off the bench this season, scoring 8.3 points per game, grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game, and shooting 37.8 percent from behind the arc.
• Wall and Borchers have each made 29 and 27 three-pointers, respectively, with Wall shooting 43.3 percent from deep.
• Both Wall and Borchers (36.0 percent) rank inside the top 10 in the NSIC in three point percentage and makes. Â
• Borchers holds the program record for career three-pointers made with 212 makes after breaking the previous record of 199 on Dec. 1.
• Borchers also became the 23rd member of the 1,000 point club on Saturday, Nov. 19 against Northern Michigan.
• SMSU is averaging 77.1 ppg while opponents are averaging 63.4 ppg. SMSU has a plus-2.7 rebounding margin.
• SMSU is shooting 45.6 percent from the field, 37.7 percent from the 3-point line, and 71.5 percent the free-throw line.

Tom Webb is in his seventh season as head coach with a 67-95 record, including 49-79 in NSIC play.
• Webb is 158-218 overall in his 15th season as head coach at the Division II level after compiling a record of 92-123 in eight seasons (2008-16) as head coach at Cameron University (Okla.).
• SMSU earned their first win over a ranked team since 2018-19 in 2021-22, defeating No. 15-ranked Nebraska-Kearney.
• Webb guided the Mustangs to a 10-3 home record, their best home record since the 2002-03 season and led SMSU to its first home NSIC tournament game since 2005, and first NSIC tournament victory since 2003, ending the season with their first ever tournament game inside the Pentagon.
