MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's soccer team (3-7-1, 3-4-1 NSIC) defeated the Winona State Warriors (2-6-4, 1-5-3) on Friday evening by a score of 1-0. The win was the second ever by the Mustangs over the Warriors.
Selena Prolic scored an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to give the Mustangs the 1-0 lead. Prolic has now scored in back-to-back games for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs outshot the Warriors 11-10, while WSU had more shots on goal, 7-6.
Kenna Conley was in net for the Mustangs, she made 7 saves in the clean sheet for SMSU.
The Warriors had several chances to score, with their best chance coming at the end of the game. WSU was able to get a ball past Conley, but unfortunately for the Warriors, time expired before the ball crossed the goal line.

The Mustangs will return to action on Sunday, when they host the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears at 1 p.m.
