MARSHALL, Minn. - The No. 22 ranked Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team fell to No. 5 ranked St. Cloud State University Huskies by a final score of 48-0 on Thursday.    
 
SCSU showed why they are ranked fifth in the NWCA rankings, the Huskies picked up fall victories at 125, 174, 184, and 197. They also picked up bonus points with a tech fall at 165 and a major decision at 149.  
 
Hunter Pfantz put together a strong performance against No. 11 Alyeus Craig, Pfantz nearly secured a takedown at the end of round 3, but time expired before he was able, with Craig winning by a 5-3 decision.  
 
Sean Howk fell just short of victory in his match, falling to Blake Legred by a 1-0 decision.  
 
Jacob Dykes lost the heavyweight matchup by a final score of 2-1 against Elijah Novak.  
 
"St. Cloud is a tough team with a great history." Said second-year head coach Chayse Jackson. "Today they showed up and got after it. We fought and battled for every point, but didn't quite come away with some of the close ones. But, it shows we are growing and moving in the right direction as we look to peak at regionals next weekend. I'm excited for what's next!"

UP NEXT - The Mustangs will travel to Aberdeen, S.D., to compete at the Super Region V Championships starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25.
