WHITEWATER, Wis. – The No. 8 seed Southwest Minnesota State University wheelchair basketball team had its season come to an end on Saturday morning with a 59-52 loss to No. 3 seed University of Illinois at the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament.
SMSU, which finishes in a tie for fifth-place at the 11-team national tournament, closed the three-day event with a 3-2 record and ends the season with an overall record of 12-7.
The National Wheelchair Basketball Association announced its post-season awards during the tournament with three Mustangs earning accolades.

Mackenley Laguerre were all named to the NWBA All-Rookie team.
