SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The No. 7 seed Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team had its season come to a close on Friday morning with a 4-0 loss to No. 2 seed Minnesota State in the quarterfinals of the NSIC Tournament played at Huether Family Match Pointe.
SMSU, making its fourth straight appearance in the tournament, ends the season with a 6-15 overall. MSU, which improves to 14-1 overall, advances to the semifinals on Saturday.
MSU earned the doubles point with a 6-0 victory at No. 2 and a 6-1 win at No. 3.
In singles play, MSU secured the match win earning straight set victories at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6. The No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles matches were not completed.
Courtenay Leonard was the lone senior on the Mustang squad.
