THE LOOK AHEAD
• The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (9-6, 7-2 NSIC) continues conference play on the road this Friday, Jan. 12, taking on Minnesota State University Moorhead (5-8, 5-3 NSIC) with game time at 7:30 p.m., before closing the weekend on Saturday with a 5:30 p.m. match-up versus Minot State University (4-13, 1-7 NSIC).
• SMSU, currently second in the NSIC standings, enters the weekend having won seven straight games and will be looking for its first eight-game winning streak since the 2001-02 season.

MSU MOORHEAD SERIES HISTORY
• SMSU and MSUM will meet for the 88th time with MSUM leading 44-43 in a series that began in 1973-74.
• SMSU has won three of the four previous meetings, including last season's lone meeting, 82-75, in Marshall.
• MSUM is 30-14 all-time in games played in Moorhead and has won six of the last seven, with SMSU last winning in Moorhead on Jan. 3, 2012.

MINOT STATE SERIES HISTORY
• SMSU and MSU will meet for the 13th time with the Mustangs leading 7-5 in a series that started in 2011-12.
• SMSU won the lonely meeting last season 75-58 and have beaten the Beavers in four of the last five meetings.
• The Mustangs are 4-2 all-time on the road in the series and last defeated the Beavers in Minot on Jan. 7, 2023.

Tom Webb is in his eighth season as head coach with an 86-108 record, including 64-87 in NSIC play.
• Webb is 177-231 overall in his 15th season as head coach at the Division II level after compiling a record of 91-123 in eight seasons (2008-16) as head coach at Cameron University (Okla.).
• In 2022-23, SMSU advanced to the NSIC semifinals for the fourth time in program history and first time since 2003.
• The team finished with 19 victories a season ago, tying for fifth most in program history, and highest total since 2004-05.
• SMSU also recorded a top three finish in the NSIC South last season, best in the division era, while earning a top four finish in the NSIC regular season standings for the first time since 2004-05.

MUSTANG TIP-OFF TIDBITS
• SMSU secured the program's first seven-game win streak since winning the first seven games of the 2004-05 campaign after defeating Bemidji State and St. Cloud State in NSIC play this past weekend. The Mustangs last eight-game and nine-game winning streaks came in the 2001-02 season, when the team won 11 of its final 12 games.
• SMSU used a fast-paced first half to outlast Bemidji State 86-72 in NSIC women's college basketball on Friday night. The Mustangs were led by junior
Bri Stoltzman who posted her seventh 20-point scoring performance of her career, with 25 points on 7 of 17 shooting and a perfect 10 of 10 from the foul line. Stoltzman added seven rebounds and dished five assists in addition.
Peyton Blandin scored 13 points in the affair on 5 of 11 shooting with three makes from deep.
• SMSU moved its winning streak to seven in a row, the program's longest in nearly 20 years, in earning a 79-55 victory over St. Cloud State on Saturday night.

Bri Stoltzman led the Mustangs with a game-high 17 points on 8 of 16 shooting, while
Sam Wall added 16 points on 6 of 13 shooting with three 3-pointers.
Peyton Blandin also had a strong game with 14 points with three 3-pointers.
• SMSU continued its recent hot-shooting finishing the game shooting 54 percent (33 of 61) from the field including 9 of 26 from 3-point land.
• SMSU has shot 50 percent or higher five times this season, including four of its last six games.

STONE COLD STOLTZMAN

Bri Stoltzman recorded a career-high 36 points on 13 of 23 shooting in a loss to Northwest Missouri State on Nov. 10. She recorded her second 30-point game of her career with 31 points on 9 of 18 shooting in the win over No. 19 Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 9.
• Stoltzman is leading the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and free throws made.
KEEP THE WALL ROLLING

Sam Wall set the program record for 3-pointers made in a single-season last season with 77.
• Wall ranks third all-time in 3-pointers made in program history with 195 in 113 games. She is five away from moving into second place all-time and passing Sadie Stelter (2017-22).
• She also ranks fifth in free throw percentage at .823 (144 of 175) and is fifth in 3-point field goal percentage at .380 (195 of 513).
