MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to St. Cloud State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Friday night.
The Huskies improve to 9-2-4 overall, including 6-1-4 NSIC while the Mustangs drop to 1-12-1, 1-8-1 NSIC.
The Mustangs recorded seven shots with four on net.
Brooke Wetterstrom led the Mustang offense with two shots on goal.
Haley Mason and
Dare Kroeten each tallied one shot on goal.
In the loss,
Rachel Hicks faced 11 shots on goal while recording 10 saves in net for the Mustangs.
The Huskies posted 26 shots with 11 being on net. Leading the SCSU offense was Brooke Quam, who tallied the lone goal of the match while recording two shots on goal. Gabby Hofeld supported the offense with three shots on goal.
The Huskies goalkeeper, Meriel Orham encountered four shots on net, saving all four shots en route to earning her sixth shutout of the season.
The Mustangs host Minnesota Duluth on Sunday for their final regular season home game, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
