MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Minnesota Duluth in Northern Sun Intercollegiate play on Sunday afternoon.
UMD moves its record to 2-10-3 overall, 2-7-3 NSIC. SMSU improves to 1-12-2 overall, 1-8-2 NSIC.
The Mustangs recorded four shots with three being on net. Leading the Mustang offense was
Malorie Maderak scoring her second goal of the season.
Haley Mason tallied two shots on goal.
The Bulldogs posted 19 shots with 10 being on goal. Aisley Allen led the UMD offense with two shots on the net and a goal. Morgan Eckerle supported the offense with one assist and two shots on frame.
SMSU goalkeeper,
Rachel Hicks faced 10 shots on goal while recording nine saves which led to her 100th save this season. Hicks has recorded 107 saves this season alone.
UMD goalkeeper, Kaycee Chavez encountered three shots on goal while recording two saves.
The Mustangs took the lead early in the first half from a goal by
Malorie Maderak in the 22nd minute.
Going into halftime, the Mustangs had a 1-0 advantage over the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs did not let off and would tie the game in the 89th minute from a long ball by Caitlin Sheleski then a header flicked on by Morgan Eckerle, which would land at the feet of Allen who would put the ball in the back of the net to tie the game.

Brianna Guerrero,
Hannah Walburg,
Kylie Peters,
Emma Dahnert,
Emily Maciel, and
Sydney Johnson.
The Mustangs are on the road for the remainder of the regular season with a match against MSU Moorhead on Friday, Nov. 1, with kickoff set for 3 p.m.
