THE LOOK AHEAD
• The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (16-10, 14-6 NSIC), currently in a three-way tie for fourth place in the NSIC standings, hosts Minot State (9-20, 6-14 NSIC) and MSU Moorhead (11-14, 11-9 NSIC) in its final two games of the regular season.

MINOT STATE SERIES HISTORY
• SMSU and MISU will meet for the 14th time with the Mustangs leading 8-5 in a series that began in 2011-12.
• SMSU defeated MISU earlier this season on the road 80-42, defeating the Beavers for the fifth consecutive time.
• The Mustangs are 3-3 all-time in games played in Marshall and have beat the Beavers in two of the last three meetings in the R/A Facility.
• SMSU head coach Tom Webb is 6-2 all-time versus MISU.

MSU MOORHEAD SERIES HISTORY
• SMSU and MSUM will meet for the 89th time in a 44-44 tied series that began in 1973-74.
• SMSU defeated MSUM earlier season in Moorhead 74-61 and has beat MSUM in four of the last five meetings.
• The Mustangs are 26-13 all-time in games played in Marshall and last suffered a loss to the Dragons in the R/A Facility on Jan. 27, 2017.
• SMSU head coach Tom Webb is 4-5 all-time versus MSUM.

SMSU HEAD COACH TOM WEBB
• Tom Webb is in his eighth season as head coach at SMSU with a 93-112 record, including 71-91 in NSIC play. 
• Webb is 184-235 overall in his 16th season as head coach at the Division II level after compiling a record of 91-123 in eight seasons (2008-16) as head coach at Cameron University (Okla.). 
• In 2022-23, SMSU advanced to the NSIC semifinals for the fourth time in program history and first time since 2003. 
• The team finished with 19 victories a season ago, tying for fifth most in program history, and highest total since 2004-05. 
• SMSU also recorded a top three finish in the NSIC South last season, best in the division era, while earning a top four finish in the NSIC regular season standings for the first time since 2004-05.

MUSTANG TIP-OFF TIDBITS
• In conference games only, SMSU leads the NSIC in 3-point field-goal pct. (35.1), and free throw pct. (77.4), and is currently second in field-goal pct. (43.4) and scoring offense (73.4), and is fifth in scoring margin (6.4). 
• SMSU made a season-low 16 field goals and was held to 33 percent shooting in suffering a 61-51 loss to St. Cloud State on Friday night inside Halenbeck Hall.
• Sam Wall led the Mustangs with 17 points on 6 of 15 shooting with four 3-pointers. Bri Stoltzman was the only other SMSU player to reach double figures in scoring with 10 points.
• The Mustangs made 16 of 48 field goals with nine 3-pointers on 27 attempts, while making 10 of 16 from the foul line. The Huskies, which held a 39-26 rebound advantage, closed the game shooting 38 percent (17 of 45), but made 22 of 25 free throws. Ashley Sawicki led SCSU with a game-high 20 points.
• SMSU got a crucial 78-65 win over the Bemidji State University Beavers on Saturday afternoon inside the BSU Gymnasium.
• Bri Stoltzman led SMSU with 20 points on 7 of 8 shooting, including 3 of 3 from deep while pulling down eight rebounds, dishing three assists and snatching four steals. Madison Gehloff followed with 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Peyton Blandin notched 11 points with three rebounds, while Sam Wall and Hannah Parsley chipped in 10 points apiece.
• SMSU closed the game shooting 47 percent (28 of 60) from the field including 41 percent from 3-point land. Bemidji State shot 44 percent (24 of 54) from the field, including 8 of 18 from deep. The Beavers were led by Alyssa Hill with 13 points, three rebounds, and a steal.
• SMSU has shot 50 percent or higher seven times this season.
• SMSU dished out a season-high 22 assists in victories over Martin Luther and Minot State. 
• Sam Wall became the 24th player in team history to reach 1,000 career points on Jan. 12 and ranks second in team history with 232 3-pointers. 
• Stoltzman ranks third in team history in field goal pct. (51.2, 351 of 685). 
• In NSIC games only, Stoltzman ranks second in the league in scoring (17.8), fourth in field goal pct. (47.7), sixth in assists (3.3), and 12th in free throw pct. (74.3) and rebounding (6.4).
•  Wall leads the NSIC in 3-point field goals per game (2.8) and 3-point field goal pct. (37.2), and is 12th amongst active players across Division II in career 3-pointers made.
  
MUSTANGS BY THE NUMBERS
• For the season, SMSU has three players averaging double figures in scoring, and four averaging over nine points per game. Junior Bri Stoltzman leads the way at 18.1 ppg while leading the team in both rebounding at 6.6 per game and assists with 87. 
• Senior Sam Wall is averaging 12.9 ppg and shooting 85 percent from the foul line. She leads the team with 69 3-pointers. 
• Senior Madison Gehloff is scoring 10.2 ppg and is second on the team in rebounding (5.3). 
• Junior Peyton Blandin ranks second on the team with 46 3-pointers and is averaging 8.2 ppg. Senior Hannah Parsley is averaging 9.7 ppg, and has snatched a team-second 40 steals.
• SMSU is shooting 43 percent from the field, 36 percent from 3-point range, 76 percent from the free throw line and is plus-1.8 in rebound margin. The Mustangs are averaging 74 points per game, while opponents are averaging 67 ppg.

SMSU IN THE NCAA STATS   
• In the latest Division II national statistics (Feb. 20), SMSU ranks fourth in 3-pointers per game (9.4), sixth in 3-point field goal attempts (26.3), 30th in scoring offense (74.2), 32nd in free throw pct. (76.0) and 23rd in turnovers per game (13.5). 
• Bri Stoltzman ranks 21st in field goals made (165), 32nd in scoring (18.1) and 53rd in free throws made (101). 
• Sam Wall ranks 16th in 3-point field goals made (69) and 15th in 3-point field goal attempts (187).

STONE COLD STOLTZMAN
• Bri Stoltzman recorded a career-high 36 points on 13 of 23 shooting in a loss to Northwest Missouri State on Nov. 10. She recorded her second 30-point game of her career with 31 points on 9 of 18 shooting in the win over No. 19 Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 9.
• Stoltzman is leading the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and free throws made. 

KEEP THE WALL ROLLING
• Sam Wall set the program record for 3-pointers made in a single-season last season with 77.
• Wall's 69 3-pointers made this season ranks fourth in single-season history. 
• Wall ranks second all-time in 3-pointers made in program history with 232 in 124 games. She is 20 away from moving into first all-time and passing Jenna Borchers (2018-23).
• She also ranks fifth in free throw percentage at .820 (155 of 189) and 3-point field goal percentage at .382 (232 of 608).

PEYTON BLANDIN NOTES
• Has started every game and is averaging 8.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, and is second on the team in 3-pointers with 46.
• Scored a career-high 17 points vs. Northwest Missouri State (11/10/23).

KENNADI BUCHHOLZ NOTES
• Has played in 17 games and is averaging 2.6 ppg and 1.6 rpg.
• Scored season-high eight points at Minnesota Crookston (1/20/24).
• Season-high nine rebounds vs. Martin Luther (1/2/24). 
• Recorded her first double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 13 rebounds last season vs. Crown College (11/15/22).

• Has played in 23 games adding 30 points, 22 rebounds, and 17 assists.

• SMSU is 13-30 all-time in overtime games, including 1-1 last season after defeating MSU Moorhead 82-75 in overtime on Jan. 13, and suffering a loss to St. Cloud State 70-59 on Jan. 20.

• SMSU is 9-4 at home this season after finishing 11-4 at home in 2022-23 and 10-3 in 2021-22.

• The 2023-24 campaign marks the 45th season SMSU has competed in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

• MSUM last played on Feb. 17 claiming a 73-67 home victory over Augustana and will play Sioux Falls on Feb. 23 before visiting SMSU later this week.
• Natalie Jens, the NSIC Player of the Week, leads the team in scoring at 14.9 ppg and in 3-pointers made with 24.
• Terryn Johnson is scoring 10.0 ppg and leads the team in rebounding at 8.0 rpg.
• Karlee Fisher is scoring 5.2 ppg and leads the squad in  blocks (13).
• MSUM is shooting 38 percent from the field, 29 percent from 3-point range, 68 percent from the free throw line and is plus-4.2 in rebound margin. The Dragons are averaging 62 points per game, while opponents are averaging 63 ppg.
