MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University wheelchair basketball team closes out the regular season this weekend with four games in Tucson, Ariz.
SMSU, which is 15-5 on the season, opens play on Friday taking on Eastern Washington at 3:15 p.m. CST before facing Illinois at 5 p.m. CST.
SMSU will close the weekend on Saturday battling UT Arlington on Saturday at 10 a.m. CST before finishing with Arizona at 1:30 p.m. CST.
The Mustangs last played on Jan. 26-27, splitting four games at the University of Missouri Tournament.
Emmanuel Fuentes Cervantes is leading the team in scoring at 24.8 ppg, with
Joshua Brown scoring 17.1 ppg and
Fermin Wingerter adding 15.7 ppg.
This weekend will be SMSU's last games prior to hosting the National Wheelchair Basketball Championship on March 14-16 inside the R/A Facility and PE Gym.
