MARSHALL, Minn. -- The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team remained alive in the consolation bracket of the NWBA tournament on Friday with a 69-60 win over City Univeristy of New York inside the R/A Facility.
SMSU, the No. 7 seed, will now play No. 4 seed Auburn University on Friday starting at 6 p.m. with the winner advancing to Saturday's fifth-place game.
Joshua Brown paced the Mustangs with a team-high 23 points on 9 of 18 shooting with 12 rebounds and seven assists.
Fermin Wingerter made 8 of 13 field goals for 17 points, while
Emmanuel Fuentes Cervantes added 18 points on 8 of 12 shooting in just 18 minutes.
Landon Wherry came off the bench to make all three field goal attempts, while grabbing four rebounds.
