MARSHALL – Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs women's soccer team was defeated Sunday afternoon by the Augustana Vikings by a score of 3-0.
The Mustangs were outshot by the Vikings 27-4, with 14 shots on target for Augustana, and all four shots for SMSU hitting the target.
Mercy Godfrey,
Sophia Bakri,
Sophia Wilson, and
Sophia Sonnek all had shots on goal for the Mustangs.
Augustana's Madelyn White opened the scoring in the first half, scoring two in the first 17 minutes of the match, and extending her lead as the NSIC top goal scorer with 11 goals on the season.
Ally Hamski added the third goal of the match, converting on a penalty kick in the 54
th minute.

Kennady Krebs made 11 saves in the match, her new career high. Augustana goalkeeper Taya Baker made four saves and is credited with a clean sheet.
The Mustangs will be back in action this weekend at The Schwan REC, first on Friday, Oct. 24, against Minot State at 5 p.m., before kicking off against UMary on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on the NSIC Network.
