WINONA, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team was defeated Friday night by the Winona State Warriors 3-0.
The Mustangs were outshot by the Warriors 15-5, with six on target for Winona State and three on target for SMSU.
Brooke Wetterstrom,
Sophia Wilson, and
Leah Dehne all had one shot on goal, with Wilson leading the team in total shots with two.
Sarah Strating found the back of the net with a left footed shot for the Warriors in the fourth minute, assisted by Kyleigh Jannisch.
Madison Watts doubled the lead for the Warriors in the 14
th minute, and Winona State scored a third in the 43
rd minute, courtesy of Jacey Sturek, assisted by Julia Kunz.
Goalkeeper
Kennady Krebs made three saves in the match, while Winona State goalkeeper Abigail Rounds made three saves, giving her a clean sheet.
