WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team opened the 2025-26 season on Friday and Saturday winning three of four games hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
SMSU opened the two-day event defeating the University of Michigan, 69-41, and UT Arlington, 68-63 on Friday. It's just the third win for SMSU over UTA in the last 38 games since 2004.
The Mustangs closed play on Saturday suffering a tough 85-83 setback to UW-Whitewater, before rebounding with a 67-49 victory over CUNY.
SMSU returns to action on Dec. 5-6 at the University of Missouri Tournament.Â
