Wheelchair basketball hits the road for four games in Missouri

MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University wheelchair basketball team returns to action this weekend with four big at the University of Missouri Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
 
SMSU (3-1) last played on Nov. 21-22 winning three of four games at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Tournament.
 
This weekend the Mustangs will face the University of Arizona on Friday at 4 p.m. before taking on Edinboro University at 6 p.m. SMSU closes play on Saturday with a rematch versus Arizona at 9 a.m., before wrapping up play at 11 a.m. versus the University of Missouri.
 
Emmanuel Fuentes Cervantes is averaging a team-high 18.8 points per game, while shooting 52 percent from the field with a team-high eight 3-pointers. Josh Brown is scoring 18.5 ppg with three 3-pointers and is shooting 61 percent from the field.  
 
Fermin Wingerter ranks third on the squad with 23 field goals and scoring 11.8 ppg in four contests, while Landon Wherry has played in three games and has made 22 field goals and is averaging 15.3 ppg.
