SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team completed a busy three days at the Augustana Invitational this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday inside the Midco Aquatic Center with three school records broken
Carla Nevi set a program record in the 200-yard IM placing second in the 'A' final at 2:06.43, breaking her own record of 2:06.52 set last season.
SMSU's 400-yard medley relay team of Nevi,
Maddy Storm,
Grace Aesoph and
Lexi Weems placed sixth overall with a school record time of 3:54.39, breaking the previous time of 3:54.99 set in 2023-24.
The SMSU 200-yard medley relay team of Nevi, Storm,
Maggie Johnson and Weems set a school record to finish fifth with a time of 1:46.28.
Weems picked-up a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.03, while Aesoph finished 14
th at 54.68. Weems earlier set a school record in the 100-yard freestyle prelims at 51.98.
Nevi earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke hitting the wall at 56.81 and was third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.05.
The 400-yard freestyle relay squad of Nevi, Aesoph, Storm and Weems notched a fifth-place time of 3:33.26.
The 200-yard freestyle relay of Nevi, Storm, Johnson and Weems earned sixth place at 1:37.20.
Shannon Bailey finished 10
th in the 400-yard IM closing with a time of 4:55.97, while Storm placed 10
th in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:06.59.
Weems finished 10
th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.20 with Storm placing 18
th at 24.65. Weems also placed 15
th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.59.
Storm had a solid race in the 100-yard IM recording a time of 1:00.53 to finish seventh.
SMSU will now be off for the holiday break and returns to competition on Jan. 16, 2026, with a dual at the University of Sioux Falls.
