SMSU IN THE NATIONAL RANKS
• SMSU has one individual ranked in the most recent (Feb. 5) Open Mat national ranks, with
Sean Howk coming in at No. 20 this week.
• Howk is ranked for the fifth time this season.
SERIES HISTORY
• Friday will be the sixth meeting between SMSU and USF, with the Mustangs holding a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series, which began in 1968.
• Last year was the inaugural NCAA DII season for the USF wrestling program.
• SMSU earned a 30-20 victory over USF on the road last season.
• SMSU is 1-0 all-time at home versus USF.
LAST WEEK
• The Mustangs fell in a pair of duals last week to Minnesota State and Northern State.

Kody Marschner had the lone SMSU win against MSU at 197 pounds taking on Grant Cook. Marschner was a man on a mission looking to grab SMSU's first win of the match. He would take over in the first period and never look back in earning a 16-3 major decision win to put SMSU on the board.

Chase Hanson picked up the single Mustang win by securing a 14-9 decision win over NSU's Brenden Salfrank.

SIOUX FALLS NOTES
• USF enters the week receiving votes in the most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Top 25 Poll (Jan. 20) with a record of 5-10 overall and 0-7 in NSIC duals.
• The Cougars last wrestled on Jan. 31 suffering a 32-9 loss to MSU Moorhead at home.
• USF has one wrestler listed in the NWCA rankings and Open Mat rankings.
• At 133 pounds, Beau Klingensmith is ranked No. 11 in the NWCA and No. 14 in the Open Mat.
