CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association has announced the official bracket for next week's National Wheelchair Intercollegiate Basketball Men's Tournament hosted by the University of Illinois on March 26-29. Games will be played inside the State Farm Center.
  
The 11-team tournament will open on Wednesday, March 26, with three games, seven games will take place on Thursday, March 27, while six games will be held on Friday, March 28. The third-place and national championship games will be held on Saturday, March 29.
 
SMSU (13-8) has earned the No. 5 seed and will take on No. 4 seed Auburn University on Thursday, March 27, at 8 a.m. If SMSU wins, they would play on Friday, March 28, at 12 p.m., if the Mustangs lose their first game they would play on Thursday, March 27, at 4 p.m.
 
Auburn defeated SMSU in the only meeting this season, 70-64, at the University of Missouri Tournament on Jan. 31. The Tigers have won the last four games in the series with the Mustangs' last victory coming during the 2019-20 season. Auburn defeated SMSU in the consolation round of the national tournament last season in Marshall, 63-50.  
 
The University of Arizona is the No. 1 seed in this season's tournament.
 
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the national championship a season ago hosted by SMSU.
 
SMSU, which finished seventh at last season's championship tournament, has won three national titles in program history in 1981, 1983 and 1986.
