CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The No. 5 seed Southwest Minnesota State wheelchair basketball team returns to the court on Friday with a 12 p.m. match-up versus top-seeded University of Arizona in the semifinals of the 11-team National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament hosted the University of Illinois.
SMSU is coming off a thrilling 63-59 victory over No. 4 seed Auburn Univesity on Thursday morning in the tournament quarterfinals. A Mustang victory on Friday would put the team in the national championship game on Saturday at 2 p.m. A loss to Arizona would drop the Mustangs into the third place game on Saturday at 10 a.m.
SMSU lost twice to Arizona two weeks ago in Tucson, Ariz., by scores of 88-64 and 82-74.
