DULUTH, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (1-4) was defeated Sunday afternoon by the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (3-1-1) 2-0.
The Mustangs were out shot by the Bulldogs 15-3, with eight being on target for the Bulldogs. All three shots from the Mustangs were on target, from
Illjana Arbaugh,
Sophia Wilson, and
Malorie Maderak.
Minnesota Duluth scored their first goal in the 25
th minute from Nora Helvig, and maintained the lead going into the half.
The Bulldogs doubled their lead in the 74
th minute from a corner delivered to the back post, and put in by Jessica Eischens.
SMSU will make their home NSIC debut on Friday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. against MSU Moorhead. Senior Day will be on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. against Minnesota Crookston. Both game are available to watch on the NSIC Network, and more information can be found at smsumustangs.com/sports/womens-soccer.
