MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (2-5, 1-3 NSIC) won their first conference game in the 2025 season, defeating the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles (1-5-1, 0-4 NSIC) on Senior Day 1-0.
The Mustangs out possessed the Golden Eagles 61% to 39%, and outshot Crookston by 14-10, with eight on target for the Golden Eagles and seven on target for the Mustangs.
The lone goal of the match came with less than two minutes left in the first half from senior forward
Brooke Wetterstrom, putting a left footed shot in the back of the net from inside the box. The goal was assisted by
Sophia Bakri.

Kennady Krebs made eight saves and kept her second clean sheet this season.
The Mustangs are home again next weekend, facing off against NSIC preseason favorites Minnesota State on Friday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. for Cancer Awareness Day.
