BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced today Southwest Minnesota State University senior women's basketball player Audrey Swanson has been named All-NSIC first team, while junior Natalie Nielsen was named All-NSIC second team as selected by the league's 16 head coaches.
 
Swanson, a senior forward from Waconia, Minn., earns All-NSIC first team accolades for the second straight season. She leads the Mustangs averaging 17.9 ppg, while ranking second on the team in both rebounding (7.9) and assists (70).
 
In NSIC play (league games only), Swanson ranked second in the league in 3-point percentage (40.7), fourth in rebounding (8.5), fifth in scoring (18.4), fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.1) and 13^th in field goal pct. (44.5). She reached the 1,000-career point mark earlier this season and has scored 1,100 points in 110 career games.
 
Nielsen, a junior center from Akron, Iowa, finished the regular season averaging a team-high 8.7 rpg and blocking a team-leading 21 shots, while ranking third on the team in scoring at 13.2 ppg. She is shooting a team-high 54.5 percent (109 of 200) from the field and ranks second shooting 90 percent (77 of 85) from the free throw line.
 
In conference play, Nielsen finished second in rebounding (8.5), second in free throw percentage (92.8), and third in field goal percentage (56.8).
 
SMSU finished the regular season with a 16-11 record, an NSIC record of 14-8, and the fifth seed in the NSIC Tournament. After Wednesday's victory over Minnesota Crookston, the Mustangs face the UMary Marauders in the NSIC Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
