MANHEIM, Pa. – The Southwest Minnesota State University wrestling team along with five Mustang student-athletes have been recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) for success in the classroom during the 2025-26 season.
The SMSU wrestling team has posted an overall GPA of 3.344 to earn the No. 13 ranking in Division II.
The Mustangs named to the Scholar All-American team include junior
Xander Kenworthy (Ankeny, Iowa), redshirt freshman
Carter Paulson (Palmer, Alaska), freshman
Wyatt Pollard (Sleepy Eye, Minn.), junior
Bronson Richins (Coalville, Utah) and sophomore
Preston Xayachak (Mountain Lake, Minn.).
To qualify for the NCAA Division II Scholar All-America Team, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and compete in a minimum of four dates of competition.
