CROOKSTON, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team earned its first point of the conference season on Friday afternoon with a 0-0 tie at the University of Minnesota Crookston.
SMSU is now 0-4-2 overall, 0-2-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.

Jada Backes led SMSU with four shots, including one on goal. The Mustangs finished the game with seven shots with one on goal.

UMC (0-3-3, 0-2-1 NSIC) closed the game with seven total shots with five on goal.
SMSU concludes the weekend road trip with a Sunday afternoon match-up at MSU Moorhead starting at 1 p.m.
