Bryan Nikkel is in his third season as an assistant coach at SMSU in 2010. He’ll be involved in all facets of the program.
A four-year letterwinner at SMSU, Nikkel appeared in 116 games with 90 starts from 2004-07. He finished his career with a .297 batting average with 11 doubles, six home runs and 49 RBI. He was also named the team’s most inspirational player in both 2006 and 2007.
Nikkel is also the head coach of the Marshall American Legion baseball program and has served as head coach of the Grand Rapids (Minn.) VFW program.
A native of Grand Rapids, Minn., Nikkel is a 2008 graduate of SMSU with degree in sports management and is pursuing his master’s degree at SMSU.
