Griffin McCormick is in his second season on the SMSU coaching staff in 2023, focusing on hitting for the Mustangs.
McCormick came to SMSU after a five year playing career, starting at Bellevue CC before finishing his playing career at Sacramento State University. He also served as a student assistant coach for the Hornets in the 2021 season. McCormick played in over 25 games over the course of 2019 season and the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He had a career .340 OBP and 41 career at bats.
McCormick is a 2021 graduate of Sacramento State and is pursuing his master’s degree at SMSU.
