Jared Fry is in his second season as an assistant coach with the SMSU program in 2027.
Fry spent the 2025 season as an assistant coach at North Central Missouri College, which came up one victory shy of advancing to the NJCAA Division 2 World Series. He was also an assistant at North Central Missouri in 2022 and 2023. Fry spent the 2024 season as an assistant at Highland Community College (Kan.). In the summer of 2026, he served on the Marshall Area Youth Baseball Association staff and was an assistant coach for the Marshall (Minn.) American Legion team which advanced to the state tournament for the first time since 2005.
Fry played two seasons at North Central Missouri before transferring to Chowan University (N.C.) and playing two seasons. He closed his collegiate career spending one season at Avila University (Kan.).
Following his collegiate career, Fry spent parts of four seasons playing in independent baseball in the Pecos, American Association and Pioneer Leagues.
Fry earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Chowan University. He is pursuing his master’s degree at SMSU.
