Before SMSU: Played two seasons at Rochester Community & Technical College ... finished 8-2 with a 3.25 ERA in 61 1/3 innings with 60 strikeouts ... was named all-conference and all-region ... was named MCAC South Division Pitcher of the Week on April 21, 2019, following a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts versus Anoka-Ramsey.

2021: Academic All-NSIC ... NSIC Myles Brand award winner ... appeared in eight games with four starts ... finished 0-3 with a 7.52 ERA in 20 1/3 innings ... registered 16 strikeouts on the season ... tossed season-high 4 2/3 innings with season-high six strikeouts at Upper Iowa (3/20).

2020: Made two starts and finished the season with a 2.92 ERA in 12 1/3 innings with 12 strikeouts ... fired seven shutout innings and allowed just two hits with eight strikeouts at Missouri Southern (2/23) ... also fired 5 1/3 innings and allowed four earned runs with four strikeouts vs. Mount Marty (3/6).

High School: 2017 graduate of Hutchinson HS ... two-time all-conference honoree ... twice named all-section.

Personal: Born June 18, 1999 ... son of Gary and Brenda Van De Steeg ... sports management major.
