Before SMSU: Played two seasons at Mesabi Range Community College in Virginia, Minnesota ... named all-conference, all-region and all-state.

2018: Appeared in four games on the mound with two starts ... recorded only victory in relief vs. Bemidji State (5/5) ... finished the season 1-1 with a 5.52 ERA in 14 2/3 innings ... tossed season-high six innings vs. Augustana (4/19) ... also played second base and had one at bat.

High School: 2012 graduate of Nogales HS ... four-year letter winner ... all-conference honoree.

Personal: Born Dec. 18, 1993 ... son of Teodoro and Monica Rangel ... criminal justice major.
