Kyle Morony is in his second season as an assistant men's basketball coach in 2025-26.
During his first season on staff in 2024-25, SMSU won a share of the NSIC regular season championship, recording just the third league championship in program history. The Mustangs advanced to the NCAA tournament for the second straight season earning the No. 6 seed. SMSU spent eight weeks ranked in the NABC Top 25, including as high as No. 13 on Jan. 28.
Morony is a 2024 graduate of Luther College with a degree in mathematics where he was a member of the baseball team. He is pursuing his master's degree at SMSU.
