Travis Carroll

Travis Carroll

Travis Carroll is in his second season as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program in 2012-13.

During his first season SMSU, Carroll helped lead SMSU to a 19-win season, a second place finish in the NSIC, an NSIC tournament championship and the program’s third appearance in the NCAA tournament.

A native of Fulda, Minn., Carroll came to SMSU after spending nine years coaching at the high school level in both Minnesota and Texas. 

He began his coaching career in 2002 at Redwood Valley High School working with the junior varsity program for one season, before moving to LeRoy-Ostrander High School and spending four years coaching basketball, football and golf. 

Carroll then moved to the state of Texas and served as an assistant coach for at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas, for four seasons and helped lead the program to a Class 5A state championship in 2011.

Carroll, a 2002 graduate of SMSU with a degree in physical education and health, lives in Marshall.  He is pursuing his master’s degree in education leadership from SMSU.
