Josh Scholten is in his second year as assistant athletic director for game environment, ticketing and community engagement in 2018-19. He was named to the position on July 31, 2017.
Scholten assists in game management and marketing for SMSU athletic events as well as other special projects.
He is no stranger to the SMSU athletics department, having spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach for the SMSU women's basketball team in 2016-17.
Prior to SMSU, Scholten spent five years working for The National Center for Drug Free Sport in Kansas City, Missouri. He also worked at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, serving as a senior enrollment advisor in the Office of Admission.
Scholten is a 2005 graduate of SMSU with a degree in physical education. He earned his master's degree in sports administration from Central Michigan University. While at CMU, he was a graduate assistant for the Indoor Athletic Complex/Chippewa Athletic Fund.
During his time as a student at SMSU he helped assist both the men's and women's basketball programs in various roles.
Josh lives in Marshall with wife, Melissa and son, Oliver, and daughter, Penelope.
