Troy Bouman serves as a volunteer assistant coach with the women's basketball program again in 2025-26. He has assisted the program for several seasons.
Bouman spent nearly 30 years as the head softball coach at Pipestone Area HS. Serving as the first head coach in team history, he led the Arrows for 27 seasons and recorded a mark of 537-127 and 15 state tournament appearances before stepping down following the 2023 season. Pipestone won a state championship in 2007 and was state runner-up in 2003 and 2008. A 15-time Section Coach of the Year, Bouman led the Arrows to 22 straight section championship game appearances.
Bouman had a long and outstanding career in fast pitch softball playing for numerous teams including winning national titles with the Ruthton Rookies and Happy Chef.
Bouman earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from South Dakota State University. He was a four-year letter winner for the SDSU men’s basketball team.
Troy and his wife, Shannon, live in rural Holland and have a daughter, Bailey (SMSU head softball coach), and son, Boyer.
