The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team will head north and west for two games this weekend.  SMSU will travel to Northern State on Friday, Dec. 12, and Mary on Saturday, Dec. 13.  Both games will start at 6 p.m.  Senior forward Sara Leidall is just five rebounds shy of 500 for her career.  After going over 1,000 points earlier this season, she will become just the ninth player in school history to reach both milestones.

Last Week's Recap
No. 17 Minnesota State, Mankato 74, SMSU 63
Sara Leidall scored a team-high 16 points for SMSU in the loss, while grabbing eight rebounds.  Abby Kenealy and Laura Kramer each scored 10 points.

Aneshia Starks hit two free throws just 13 second into the second half to cut the lead to one, but MSU went on a 6-0 run midway through the half and a 7-0 run with five minutes left to pull away for the road victory.

For the game, SMSU shot 41.2 percent from the field and just 26.3 percent from the outside, while MSU hit on 45 percent from the field for the game.  The Mavericks also owned a 47-34 rebounding edge.

Mustang Returners by the Numbers
SMSU returns 10 letterwinners, while losing just three.  The Mustangs return 78.7 percent of their scoring and 80.4 percent of their rebounding from last season.  Additionally, the returners shot 41.6 percent from the field.  Players from last season's team that are not returning shot just 34.7 percent.
