Johnson Leads Mustangs to Third Win on Saturday

WAYNE, NEB.: Amanda Johnson struck out 11 batters for the second consecutive game on Saturday as Southwest Minnesota State defeated Minnesota State Moorhead 4-3 in eight innings.  The ninth-ranked Mustangs are now 18-6 this spring and 3-0 in the NSIC.

Amanda Burkhart led off the eighth inning with a double.  Amanda Opatz brought Burkhart in one batter later with a single to win the game.

Burkhart was 2-for-3 at the plate, while Erin Dickhausen was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

SMSU plays two more games at the NSIC Crossover in Wayne on Sunday.
