This Week: The 12th ranked Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team (28-6), the 2009 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and NCAA Central Region champions, makes its second ever appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight on March 25, 26 and 28 in Springfield, Mass. 
     SMSU will open the quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 25, facing Cal Poly Pomona (23-7), the West Region champion, at 2:30 p.m. EDT at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.  The winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal game will advance to the semifinals on Thursday night at 6 p.m. EDT to face the winner of Augusta State (Ga.)/Christian Brothers (Tenn.).  The NCAA national championship game will take place on Saturday, March 28, at 1 p.m. EDT.
