INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Southwest Minnesota State football team ranks high in several categories, while junior quarterback
Ryan Ratekin ranks No.1 in the nation in passing efficiency, in this week's NCAA Division II statistics released on Monday from the NCAA office in Indianapolis, Ind.
As a team, SMSU ranks in the top 50 in seven categories. The Mustangs are second in passing efficiency (197.4), fourth in scoring offense (45.5), sixth in passing offense (340.5), 10th in total offense (464.5), 19th in pass efficiency defense (98.0), 27th in punt returns (15.0) and 43rd in scoring defense (19.5).
Individually, junior quarterback
Ryan Ratekin is first nationally in passing efficiency (204.1) and tied for 13th in total offense (294.0). Sophomore wide receiver
Wade McDonough is 11th in receiving yards (107.5), senior
Blake Wilson is 12th in punt returns (19.7) and tied for 34th in scoring (9.0), freshman running back
Gannon Moore is tied for 19th in scoring (10.5), while redshirt freshman kicker
Lance Schuveiller is tied for 50th in field goals (.75).
Southwest Minnesota State, 3-1 overall, 2-1 NSIC, will travel to Wayne, Neb., to take on No. 23 Wayne State College on Saturday, Sept. 26 beginning at 1 p.m.
