Indianapolis, Ind. - The Southwest Minnesota State football team ranks high in several categories, while junior quarterback
Ryan Ratekin ranks No. 2 in the nation in passing efficiency, in this week's NCAA Division II statistics released on Monday from the NCAA office in Indianapolis, Ind.
As a team, SMSU ranks in the top 50 in eight categories. The Mustangs are third in passing efficiency (189.7), fifth in scoring offense (44.2), sixth in passing offense (332.8), 13th in total offense (447.0), 25th in punt returns (15.5), 34th in net punting (34.4), 48th in kickoff returns (21.6) and tied for 49th in turnover margin (.40).
Individually, junior quarterback
Ryan Ratekin is second nationally in passing efficiency (193.8) and 12th in total offense (291.4). Sophomore wide receiver
Wade McDonough is 25th in receiving yards (93.4), senior
Blake Wilson is 13th in punt returns (17.2), tied for 26th in scoring (9.6) and tied for 43rd in receiving yards (83.0). Freshman running back
Gannon Moore is tied for 45th in scoring (8.4).
Southwest Minnesota State, 3-2 overall, 2-2 NSIC, will travel to Winona, Minn., to take on Winona State University on Saturday, Oct. 3, beginning at 1 p.m.
