THIS WEEK - Southwest Minnesota State (2-2) continues its tough non-conference schedule this week with three games in five days. SMSU will begin the busy stretch taking on NCAA Division I South Dakota State University (3-2) on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in Brookings, S.D., with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. at Frost Arena. SMSU concludes the week with a pair of games at the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Classic in Maryville, Mo. The Mustangs open with the University of Central Missouri (2-0) on Saturday, Nov. 24, with tip-off set for 1 p.m., before taking on No. 24 Northwest Missouri State University (3-0) on Sunday, Nov. 25, starting at 3 p.m. Both games will be played at Bearcat Arena.
LAST TIME OUT - Southwest Minnesota State dropped its home opener to Michigan Tech 75-67 on Nov. 15 in a game played in the PE Gym. It was the first game played in the PE Gym since Feb. 28, 1997. A scheduling conflict in the R/A Facility forced the game to be moved. SMSU held a 60-58 lead with 4:20 left in the game, but an ensuing 10-0 run by MTU was too much for SMSU to overcome.
Nick Smith led SMSU with 13 points and 11 rebounds for his third straight double-double.
Jordan Miller poured in a team-high 15 points with four 3-pointers.
