THIS WEEK - Southwest Minnesota State (3-4, 0-0 NSIC) opens the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season this Saturday, Dec. 1, hosting the University of Sioux Falls (4-0, 0-0 NSIC) at the R/A Facility with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. Saturday's game will be SMSU's first regular season appearance in the R/A Facility. SMSU opened its home season on Nov. 15 versus Michigan Tech, but the game was played in the PE Gym on campus. SMSU and USF will be meeting for the first time ever as members of the same conference and will be playing each other for the first time since Dec. 30, 2008.
SMSU ALL-TIME IN THE NSIC - Saturday's game marks the 44th year that Mustang men's basketball has competed in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. SMSU has compiled an all-time record of 283-331 in 614 conference games and has finished in the top half of the final conference standings 21 times in 43 seasons. SMSU has finished in the top half of the NSIC standings in 12 of the last 15 seasons since 1997-98.
